Poured concrete usually costs less upfront. That is its biggest draw. Pavers cost more to install, but the gap closes once you factor in repairs and lifespan.
This is where it gets real. Concrete is one solid slab. When the ground freezes and shifts, it cracks. Pavers are individual units set on a flexible base, so they move with the ground instead of cracking.
A cracked concrete slab is hard to fix. You patch it, and the patch shows. Often, you end up replacing the whole thing. With pavers, you lift the damaged ones and drop in new ones. The repair blends right in.
Concrete is plain by default. You can stamp or stain it, but it still reads as concrete. Pavers come in many colors, shapes, and patterns. They tend to add more curb appeal and resale value.
We are not anti-concrete. On a basic sidewalk or a utility slab, poured concrete is a solid, budget-friendly pick. On a patio you will actually live on, pavers usually win over the long run.
